Our First Graduate, Patricia!

We are so thrilled to announce the first SONBT graduate. Because of your donations Patricia has just graduated from a vocational training school where she earned a diploma in Hotel & Institutional Catering. We couldn't be more proud of her achievement and are grateful to God who has brought her to this point. With Patricia being the first graduate, she has the honor of being a role model and example to the younger students as they strive toward the goal of graduation. They are seeing that it really is possible to gain the education and skills that can help them escape life in the slums. 

Patricia is the oldest of 5 siblings being raised by a single mother who is working as a hair stylist in Katanga slum. Patricia was 12 years old when she joined the SONBT scholarship program in 2019, just before the COVID lockdown which closed schools for nearly a year. Despite this hurdle in her educational journey, she fought hard and finished high school. Now with her diploma in catering, she has the tools she needs to get a job that can take her out of life in the slum while also being able to supplement her family income!
