Visitation Day!

In Ugandan boarding schools, there is one day each trimester that the students look to with the most excitement and joy. That is the "student visitation day." On visitation day, parents are invited to the school to spend the day with their child. They usually spend the morning cooking a special meal to take to their child to give them a much needed break from the repetitive meals in the boarding school. Since students spend most of the year at school, getting a day to spend time with their parents is always a great joy.

SONBT ensures that none of our parents miss this day. It is an integral piece of our family-focused philosophy. Rather than being an organization that takes over the role of the parents, we desire to empower parents to be involved and to fulfill their responsibilities toward their children. We have been encouraged to see most of our parents happily do this without needing to be reminded!

Thank you for your love and support that makes it possible to give these students an education while keeping families together!
